First break

All the players are now on a 15-minute break. This gives me time to count the stacks of our 4 team members in the action on Day 1B of the European Poker Tour’s London event.

Jonas Klausen: 32 K
Sam Trickett: 28 K
Joël Benzinou: 27 K
Marvin Rettenmaier: 12 K ( he succeeded to triple-up after winning many pots).

Chip Counts at the end of Level 1

Here are the chip counts of the Team Titan players at the end of Level 1.
Blinds are now 75-150 for one hour.

Marvin Rettenmaier: 4.4 K
Joël Benzinou: 33 K
Sam Trickett: 25 K
Jonas Klausen: 36 K (won many small pots)

About 500 players paid the £5000  to participate in the tournament’s 1B starting day. We don’t have the official number of players yet, but it is just a matter of time until we do.

EPT PokerStars.com London 2010: Day 1B

Good morning and welcome back to the Hilton Metropole Hotel, where more than 400 poker players are expected today for Day 1B of the European Poker Tour’s London event.

Yesterday, 339 players took their seats in the poker room and the record turnout from last year will be probably beaten. That means it would be the biggest poker playing field in England’s history.

The chip leader of Day 1A was the young American online qualifier Soheb Porbandarwala with 218 K in chips.

End of Day 1A of EPT PokerStars.com London 2010

Finally, after 9 levels, we have reached the end of Day 1A of the tournament. 339 players took to the felt this morning but many busted out along the way. The chips are already bagged and signed and Soheb Porbandarwala finished the day as the chip leader with an impressive 218,000 chips stack.

All the remaining players will be returning on Friday. They will be  joined by the survivors of tomorrow (Day 1B).

We will be back at the Hilton Metropole Hotel at 12:00 local time to spend the day with 4 members of Team Titan registrated for action on day 1B, Joël Benzinou, Marvin Rettenmaier, Sam Trickett and Jonas Klausen.

After 6 hours of play, we are now on a dinner break for 90 minutes. After it, 1 more level of an hour will be played  today with blinds increasing to 300/600 and an ante of 75.

Middle of Level 4

We’re in the middle of the Level 4 (blinds 150/300), with 320 players left from the 357 registrated at 12:00 (still not an official number). The average count is: 35,500 chips.

A few notable players have already busted. Among them I notice Lex Veldhuis, Ludovic Lacay, Sorel Mizzi and Vanessa Selbst.

Just after two famous players, Roland De Wolfe and Tommy Vedes had  arrived at his table, I hear the dealer shouting “All-in called table 6″. I run to the table to see all of Sorel Mizzi’s and Tommy Vedes’s chips in the middle of the table.

Team Titan captain Sorel Mizzi is in the action!

Schulman, Kristoffer Thorsson and Paul Testud are at Sorel Mizzi’s table. As usual, Mizzi has played a lot of small pots and after 2 levels, the Canadian player has 22,000 in chips.

Around 350 players registered for Day 1A.
