Joe hails from Belfast, Northern Ireland and is 34 year old poker player. He is the proud father of an 11 year old and a 1 year old. He used to play 8-10 hours a day of poker a day until his youngest kid was born. “When the kid grows up, I will be able to play more online once again”, Joe told us. His favorite is Omaha – small stakes. He enjoyed playing the latest big Omaha promotion on Titan Poker – Omaholics.

McAdorey qualified for the Irish Winter Festival through the satellites after investing $3. He had returned to Titan Poker 3 months ago because of a $50 bonus that was offered. “I had been away for some time because of my baby”, Joe added. This would be his first big offline tournament. “I was definitely overwhelmed… I could not believe it… there are people here like Martin Smith and Liam Flood… these are the people you see on TV”, said Joe.

He started off just folding on Day 1. “I wasn’t getting anything. At some stage I fell to 8,000 chips but it was not until the last hour of the day that I started to get hands. Ten minutes before day’s end, I got a pair of queens and I got a caller with a pair of 10’s. He got nothing on the turn or river and that boosted me to 38,000”, he recalls.

Day 2 started slow for McAdorey and he dropped initially to 32,000. He moved tables and and got a couple of good hands. His most memorable hand was A 10(Spades). He raised to 3,000 and was called by the big blind. “There were two of us in the flop… the flop came AQ10. He checked and I went in 6,000… it was then him going all in. I thought about it a while lot and then I decided to fold. It was a good fold”, said Joe with a smirk.

This year’s Irish Winter ended for McAdorey when he went in 18,000 with A 10 against a pair of 10’s backed up by a heavier stack. We are looking forward to seeing him again soon representing Titan at an offline event.
