Jean Lud Dutto, French Player - Titan Guest
The two first levels are over, and all the players are on a 15 minute break .
The number of registered players has increased, mysteriously. We now have 129 players, three of whom have been eliminated during the two first hours of the tournament. As I said in the previous post, Irene Van Loon, who finished in 14th place at the Irish Winter Tournament, has already busted out. I don’t know the names of the two other players.
During the break, I talked to Jean-Luc Dutto, one of my favorite French players at this tournament. Jean-Luc finished in 16th place at the Irish Winter Festival (he qualified on Titan Poker) and took home €5,600 for his performance.
He described to me how he was at home, a few days after Dublin, when his telephone rang. “Hi Jean-Luc, Titan Poker speaking, we would like to invite you to the ECPT Malta.“ Wow.
“I was astonished,” said the French player, “and I had a lot of work, but it’s the kind of invitation you can’t refuse“.
So, Jean Luc is in the house. As for how he’s doing here, he told me that his table is relatively tight, and he counts 13,000 chips for the moment.
“I had a few good hands, but with tight-passive players, it’s difficult to take profit. It’ possible I’ve lost some value in checking a set on the river, because my opponent checked too, but anyway, he had only Ace-high, and I’m sure he wouldn’t make a hero-call with Ace-high. After the break, with the blind increase, the time to steal the pots preflop is coming…“.
