The first level just finished.
Sorel Mizzi and Joël Benzinou are seated at the same table with four other French players – not surprising since Barcelona is famous as a “French poker place” because of the large numbers of French representatives. Sometimes we see even more French players than Spanish players at the big tournaments here in Barcelona.
Joël Benzinou lost a 10K pot against Alban Messe. Joël flopped a set while his opponent found a straight. Joël succeed in “saving” some chips giving up his hand on the river. Good fold ! He is down to 10.5 K.
Marvin Rettenmaier is up to 22 K.
Sorel Mizzi (Team Titan’s captain) arrived a little bit after the beginning along with Joël Benzino (they’d gone to eat something before this long day of competition got underway). Then Sorel asked for a massage to put himself in the best condition to play.
Seems to have worked. During the first hour of play Sorel Mizzi remained really calm, playing just a few hands.
Martial Blangenwitsch and Tristan Clemençon from France are also seated at his table.
Yann Brosolo of Team Titan is now seated in front of a 23 K stack.
Just before the end of the first break, Laurent Leclerc raised pre-flop and Yann re-reraised with A♣K♦
Leclerc made the call and the two friends (from Paris) saw the next flop: A♥K♥8♦
Leclerc checked and Yann bet 1.5 K which was immediately called by Leclerc.
Turn: A♦ and Leclerc once again checked/called the bet of Yann Brosolo (3K).
And finally, on the river, the 10♣, Laurent Leclerc checked and folded, after which Yann Brosolo pushed all-in for more than 10 K.
