Andreas Schmidt, Titan Team Player, busted out at 20th place

Ten minutes after playing resumed, we lost Andreas Schmidt, the last Titan Team Player.

Here’s how it happened.  We were twenty players, so we needed two more eliminations to be ITM. On table 1, one player raised 5,200 from middle position, and Bo Sehlstedt, chip leader, re-raised to 13,500 from the button.

Andreas Schmidt wass big blind, and went all-in for a 65,000 chip total. Bo took a long time, but made the call.

Show down:

Andreas Schmidt: J-J

Bo Sehlstedt: Q-Q

The board: A-5-8-10-2

Andreas Schmidt was eliminated in 20th place.

So, that’s bubble time ! Its my favorite time in a poker tournament.  You can feel the fear at the tables, each hand takes ten minutes, it seems that each player is  playing for his life with each hand…. Actually, that’s pretty much the case.  The worst place for a poker player is the bubble, the last place without money…

Twenty minutes after the beginning of the hand-for-hand, we encountered the Bubble-Boy, Sebastian Percy-Smith, from Denmark.

He went all-in with A-7 and was paid by A-10. No seven on the board.  And with that we were down to 18 players and two tables.

The road is going to be long up to the final table…
