Heads Up in Las Vegas
7,319 players started their game play on July 5 in the 2010 World Series of Poker $10,000 Main Event. Only nine players returned on November 6 for the Final Table. And then they played until two players remained.
The winner of the $8.94 Million first prize and the prestigious bracelet will either be Canadian Jonathan Duhamel or American John Racener. Duhamel holds a massive chip lead.
The stage is set for Heads-Up between the final two players, and the action will resume on November 8. Duhamel has a massive lead, with 188.95 million to Racener’s 30.75 million.
However, this lead does not guarantee a bracelet for the Canadian, as anything can happen in Heads-Up play. According to the action so far, Racener’s short-stacked abilities have served him well, and perhaps he can still turn the tournament around.
Here is how the other November Nine players finished in the tournament:
3rd: Joseph Cheong $4,130,049
4th: Filippo Candio, $3,092,545
5th: Michael Mizrachi, $2,332,992
6th: John Dolan, $1,772,969
7th: Jason Senti, $1,356,720
8th: Matt Jarvis, $1,045,743
9th: Cuong “Soi” Nguyen, $811,823
