Irene van Loon
Irene van Loon accompanied her partner Leon de Rouw to Dublin for the Irish Winter Festival. He had qualified to play online through Titan Poker and Irene had planned on passing the time as a spectator at the tournament. Luck came her way when one of the Titan qualifiers did not pitch up at the City West Hotel and then Irene stepped in as a wild card. Now through to Day 2 of the tournament, Irene has already managed to make a name for herself at the tables.
The mother of two is an avid Titan Poker player. Her children, aged 7 and 11 are already fond of the great game. The older one already plays Texas Holdem with his mother for fun. They are really excited to be able to follow their mom’s progress live on the Titan Poker website and on Titan Casino Blog.
Irene had qualified to play in the final after winning the super satellite online, but she forgot to register. When she came to this realization she was quite disappointed. Nevertheless luck crossed her path and she is currently sitting sweet at the tables.
When she arrived late to the table on Day 1, she got mixed reactions from the all man table. “I arrived late and I was the only lady at the table… the players all laughed at me”, she told us. Since that moment she has gained plenty of respect for her game play. She is a tight player, playing good hands only and she is extremely patient. Irene looks the players in the eye and sports a poker face – if she raises, no one deals with her. Her cautious play and cunning along with her calculated aggressive play when needed, reminds us all of a wild cat.
Irene gained a lot of support when she managed to remove a loud mouth player from the table. She went all in to remove him and all of the men at the table thanked the lovely lady for doing the dirty work. She currently sits on a stack of 87,000 with 800-1600 blinds,We all have big hopes riding on this Titan!
