We continue our report of Day 1B at the Pokerstars.net EPT Snowfest event.
Level 5 – Blinds 150/300 Ante 25 -
The return from the dinner-break was not good for our pro member of Team Titan. A German player opened to 800 and Marvin Rettenmaier made the call.
On the flop K-J-10 Marvin called the 1.2K bet from his compatriot.
The turn came 6, Marvin Rettenmaier bet 1,800 after his opponent had checked. He was finally paid.
On the river, 4, the German opponent checked. Marvin bet 3,800 but was 3-bet to 11,400. Marvin Rettenmaier called. His opponent showed K-J which was better than Marvin’s hand who mucked his AK.
He is down to 28K after this loss.
In the middle of the level, 15 minutes later, the UTG +2 player opened to 850 and Marvin Rettenmaier announced “I raise 2025″. His adversary called.
Flop: 4♣ 4♦ 7♣
UTG+2 player checked and Marvin bet 2,525 and was called.
Turn: J♣
Another check from the initial raiser and Marvin Rettenmaier fired off 6,150. After a short hesitation, UTG +2 called.
Both players checked on the river, the J♣, and Marvin Rettenmaier mucked his hand when he saw the cards of his opponent: 8♣ 8♦
Marvin Rettenmaier is down to 17K when the average is 37,400 with 242 players left.
Shortly later, Marvin won a small hand without showdown to come back to 20K.
Finally just before the break, Marvin Rettenmaier is back to 37K. The UTG+1 player bet 650 and Marvin 3-bet him to 1,925 from the button with 10♥ 10♠. His opponent called.
Flop: K♦ 10♦ 6♣
The UTG+1 player check-raised all-in and Marvin Rettenmaier paid showing his Tens.
His opponent showed A♦ Q♦
The turn was the 4♦ giving Marvin’s opponent the flush max. But our German player from Team Titan hit the K♣ for a victorious full-house.
Marvin Rettenmaier can breathe easier now.

Level 6 – Blinds 200/400 Ante 50
In the middle of the level, Marvin opened his Kings in early position and bet 1050. Four players called.
Flop: J♥ 8♠ 4♠
Marvin checked and his direct neighboor bet 2.6K. The player at the high-jack folded and the button called.
Turn: 5♦
Marvin checked, his neighboor imitated him and now it is the button who decided to bet 6.2K. Marvin and his neighboor called.
On the river, the 8♣, Marvin checked a last time. His neighboor bet 7.2 K. The button called and Marvin decided to call as well.
Hands:
Button player: J♣ 9♥
Left neighboor: A♠ 9♠
And finally Marvin took this nice pot to reach 71K.
Level 7 – Blinds 300/600 Ante 50 -
A few hands later Marvin lost a 15K pot and is down to 64K and then another small one. We didn’t see the hands.
At the end of this level, the average is 45.7K with 198 players left and Marvin Rettenmaier has 60K in chips.
Level 8 and last level of the day – Blinds 400/800 Ante 75 -
Marvin Rettenmaier played a lot of hands during this last level and succeed to raise his stack to 73K at the end of Day 1B.
Not a lot of showdowns but some interesting hands.
The hijack player, Michael Schinrpf, raised to 1800 and Marvin at the cut-off made it more expensive: 4,225. The small and big blinds gave up and Michael Schinrpf decided to call.

Both players checked.
Turn: 9♠
Michael Schinrpf checked and Marvin fired a 5.1K bet. His opponent gave up and the German pro from Team Titan took the pot.
Just before the end of the day, Marvin Rettenmaier raised to 1725 in middle position and the big blind made the call.
Flop 10♥ 5♥ 4♠
Big blind player checked and Marvin imitated him.
Turn: A♦
Big blind checked, Marvin bet 2,350 and his opponent folded.
