Level 9 – 75 minutes – Blinds 500/1000 Ante 100
Marvin Rettenmaier didn’t find a lot of good situations and had no good cards to put him into action. So he stayed quiet until the end of the level when he eliminated his friend Julian Herold in a blinds batlle.
Herold raised to 2.8K and after that the whole table folded and Marvin called from the big blind. On the flop Q♣ Q♥ 7♠ Herold opened to 3.6K and Marvin Rettenmaier paid quickly.
The turn came 10♦
Julian Herold decided to bet 7.3K and Marvin entered into a long reflexion before calling.
The river brought the K♦ and Herold fired a new barrel of 16.3K that time and Marvin Rettenmaier took another long time before announcing all-in. His opponent was covered and Marvin asked: ”Do you have Queen King ?”. Impossible for Herold to fold his hand and so finally he made the call.
Marvin Rettenmaier turned A♣J♥ for a straight and his friend couldn’t believe it and showed A♥Q♠
Herold left the poker room completely KO after his elimination. Following this, Marvin climbed to 111K.
234 players were left at the end of the level for an average of 62K.
Level 10 - Blinds 600/1200 Ante 100
The pro player Fatima Morreira De Melo joined the table taking the seat of the recently busted German player Herold.
Marvin Rettenmaier won small pots without showdown before losing the next pot against De Melo.
The woman opened to 2.6K in middle position and Marvin made the call in hi-jack position. The cut-off player decided to pay as well.
Flop: 3♦ 7♦ 8♠
De Melo c-bet to 6.5K. Marvin flat-called and the cut-off player gave-up his hand.
On the turn, 4♥, Fatima didn’t slow down her aggression and bet 11K . Marvin Rettenmaier took a few seconds before calling.
And finally on the river, the J♥, Fatima checked and Marvin checked behind. She was trying to trap our member of Team Titan.
She showed pocket 3s for a set and Marvin mucked his cards. He was holding pocket 10s. Marvin congratulated his opponent and is down to 90K.
Then Marvin lost another small pot against Hanh Tran for 10K. The action stopped on the turn when Marvin Rettenamaier decided to give up the hand. The table broke and Marvin moved to a new one where he joined the Italian pro Luca Pagano who built a huge stack of around 200K.
Marvin finished Level 10 with 87K when the board was indicating an average of 85K.
Level 11 – Blinds 800/1600 Ante 100
Unfortunately Marvin was eliminated in the middle of the level. First, he succeed in bluffing the chipleader of the table. Marvin raised to 3.5K in hi-jack position and the small blind made the call. The big blind player who is big stacked, 3-bet to 11K. Then Marvin Rettenmaier quickly moved all-in for 75K. The small blind player folded quickly but the big one tanked for a long time before folding. Marvin showed him a 3. He held A♥3♥.
Then few minutes later came the fatal hand for the German player of Team Titan. Luca Pagano opened to 3.5K in middle position and Marvin Rettenmaier called in hi-jack position as did the player on the button.
Flop: Q-J-6 rainbow
Pagano c-bet to 9.5K and Marvin made the call.
Turn: A♦
Pagano bet 21K and Marvin Rettenmaier paid his Italian opponent.
A blank appeared on the river and Pagano moved all-in. Marvin Rettenmaier took 2 minutes before calling with A♥Q♣.
Unfortunately Pagano had the winning hand when he flopped a set of 6s.
Marvin Rettenmaier shook Pagano’s hand before leaving the poker area. Schade !
