Team Titan’s British player Sam Trickett had a very profitable session at the high stakes cash games in Macau recently and he has just spilled the beans on the juicy details in an interview with Bluff Europe Magazine.

After getting into the action alongside Tom Dwan against some very rich Chinese businessmen, Sam “ended up winning about a million pounds over two sessions”. In one hand, Sam was bluffing “all-in for 2,000,000 HKD (£160,000)” and his Chinese opponent folded to his relief.

In the Bluff interview, Sam stated that his Macau bankroll was staked for 30% by his friend James Bord, winner of the 2010 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event.

After bluffing his way to win the all-in hand, Sam called James on Skype and James responded, “Why did you call the flop? WHY?!” As per Sam, James “said he felt sick when I told him I was bluffing all-in. He’s very ABC and he was just like, ‘Stop bluffing!’”

In November, Sam wrote on his Bluff Magazine blog that he was “currently in Macau trying to worm my way in to the big 10,000/20,000 HKD ($1300/$2600) cash game, I have been here for 2 weeks now and I havent really made any progress on getting into the game.”

Sam finished his blog posting by stating: “If I ever get in to the game I will be buying in for approximately $1,000,000 and this will be the most I have ever taken to a table so I am super excited for a chance.”

Sam has just been shortlisted as one of four candidates for the European Player of the Year Award. In September he was the winner of the Best New Player award of the inaugural British Poker Awards.
