Sam Trickett Leads Epic Poker League’s Main Event

Team Titan’s Sam Trickett is leading the remaining 18 players in the inaugural $20,000 Epic Poker League 6-Max Main Event in Las Vegas. At the end of Day 2, Sam has 1,032,000 chips, which puts him well ahead of the field. In second is Hasan Habib with 646,000.

Play will resume tomorrow with all 18 players in the money. The next player to be eliminated will receive $43,190. First place will receive $1,000,000.

The Epic Poker League is a newly launched series of tournaments for the top players in the world. Its events are staged at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The league invites players on a membership basis based on their tournament results in the past few years while other players have a chance to join the action through a preliminary satellite event.

A total of 63 players returned to the Day 2 action of the tournament. Trickett risked everything when his QQ went up against the pocket sixes of John Racener. The board brought another queen, and Trickett scored a significant double-up.

One by one the best players in the world were eliminated until there were only 19 left. This put the action on hand to hand play until the bubble was broken. Matt Graham was eliminated in 19th place, the last unpaid position, and action ended for the night.
