Team Titan captain Sorel Mizzi has finished in the top ten places at his last two World Poker Tour events, but in both cases, he just missed appearing at the televised Final Table.

Competing in the Five Diamond World Poker Classic this week at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, Sorel was eliminated in ninth place by the current chipleader, Vanessa Rousso. He won $59,123.

In his final hand, Sorel Mizzi raised to 70,000 from under the gun and Vanessa Rousso re-raised to 210,000 from middle position.  Sorel took a minute and announced he is all-in.

Rousso called instantly and turned over Kdiamondheart. Mizzi let out a sigh as he showed QspadeQclub

The board ran out A spade10spade 6heart 8club9club. and Rousso’s kings held to give her the pot.

Interviewed by WPT commentator Kimberly Lansing ahead of ten-handed play, Sorel said to her that he almost forgot about last month’s WPT tournament at Foxwoods where he had finished in 7th place for a prize of $88,802. “The pressure is on,” Sorel admitted. “It would not be fun to bubble another featured Final Table.”

World Poker Tour Final Tables are staged when there are only six players left in the action.
