Developing My Cash Game

March 27th, 2011 by klausenjonas

Hi, I’m Jonas Klausen from Team Titan. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve written a blog entry. This is partly laziness, but also some computer problems. I got the brilliant idea that I would reinstall my desktop Alienware computer, because for some time it had some small problems. It took a little less than two days to get it up and running 100% and when it finally succeeded, it also took some time to get Office to work again. But now it all runs smoothly, so I finally found the time to write a blog entry. I apologize for the absence.

I have been playing a lot of poker lately, especially cash games. Although I’m still in the development stage of my cash game, I think that it is beginning to flow, as it should.

Playing Poker with a Home Advantage

March 8th, 2011 by klausenjonas

I’m Jonas Klausen from Team Titan. This week the EPT was held in Copenhagen. It was nice for once to have home advantage, although this time it didn’t mean much. I played my absolute best under the circumstances.

I pulled a really tough table, with only one soft spot. However, it was rather expected in EPT Copenhagen, which is considered one of the year’s hardest EPT tournaments. When Level 7 started, we hadn’t lost any of our original 10 players which means a lot in such a tournament.

I was eliminated at the beginning of Level 8 and unlike other times, was completely ready for my exit. So it’s back to the daily routine of exercise and a lot of poker.

Cold Weather in Denmark, but Poker is Hot

February 27th, 2011 by klausenjonas

Hi, I’m Jonas Klausen from Team Titan. In February the weather is really gray and cold in Denmark. It changes between minus degrees, snow, wind and rain. But that is just one of the things you have to accept when you live in this Nordic country. But my poker accounts are hot.

On Monday I played my way to my second victory in FTOPS. It was a strange night where I had no intentions of playing but when my brother fell asleep during the movie we were watching I decided to go to the computer and play some tournaments. The tournament was a pretty long grind and I had some crazy swings. But when I reached the final table I was feeling good.

Stimulating the Blood for a Good Poker Year

February 20th, 2011 by klausenjonas

I’m Jonas Klausen from Team Titan. First, I want to start by apologizing that my blogs are not always on time. This time I can blame someone else though. When I am done writing my blog is has to undergo a short process. First it needs to be corrected for grammar mistakes, etc. and then it has to be translated from Danish to English. Finally it has to be uploaded to Titan Poker’s website. I will try to speed up the process a bit.

Congratulations to my team mate Sam Trickett who has had a FANTASTIC start to 2011. He won AUD $2,900,000 during Aussie Millions without even going deep in the Main Event – very impressive I must say.

Good Eating Habits and the Big Swings in Poker

February 10th, 2011 by klausenjonas

I’m Jonas Klausen from Team Titan. Has it been a good start to 2011? I have absolutely no complaints. As you know, the new year started with my victory in Boss Media’s Sunday Tour and last Sunday I continued my winning streak with a 3-way deal in a $150,000 GTD which earned me a nice amount of cash. I am very satisfied with my game these days. I choose the right spots and as compared to 2010, I am reaching the end game when I play. It is nice and refreshing – life as a poker player is ALWAYS more fun when you earn a little $.

The Physically Fit Life of a Poker Player

January 30th, 2011 by klausenjonas

I’m Jonas Klausen from Team Titan. Welcome to my second blog and welcome to a new week. As I promised last week my blog will not deal very much with poker but instead contain stories from my life as a poker player. I will focus on how everyday life looks for a tournament player. The days can be long because as a tournament player you find the big and best tournaments on Sundays only.

A large part of this blog will be about my attitude towards physical activity in life. I personally believe that it is very important to develop yourself all the time both physically and mentally. Make sure that you have the tools to make it far in life and to keep you on track. Make sure that you are up for the challenges which life gives by being aware of the time and society that you live in. If you understand what is happening around you, you will experience the turns life gives you in a much more straight forward and clear manner.

From a Danish Island to Life as a Poker Pro

January 18th, 2011 by klausenjonas

How does one start a blog like this? Well, that is hard to answer and when I looked it up the cookbook for boys there was no recipe for this international dish. But let me start by introducing myself. I am Jonas Klausen, a 24-year-old poker player originally from Fyn (an island in Denmark). I represent Titan Poker as a member of Team Titan. I am Danish and like most other kids I spent my childhood in elementary school and high school. To say it short, I was raised in a small and safe environment.

It was during my time in high school I started playing poker. I began in 2001/2002 with 5 Card Draw. This was the beginning and I mostly played for small money in my hometown. This game was quickly replaced by the game we all know and love: No limit Texas Hold’em. I quickly found myself totally devoted to the game.

Bad news at the break

October 1st, 2010 by pierre

We are on break now at the European Poker Tour’s Main Event in London, but just before it, Jonas Klausen almost lost everything he had, leaving him with only 2.5 K.

After some raise-reraise action preflop, Jonas Klausen (Small Blind) and his opponent saw the flop of Q-2-J. Read More »
