Irene Van Loon busted out in the middle of the second level.

It was one of the hands I was talking about in my previous post, one of those hands that make you believe that the god of poker has forgotten you on the side of the road… One of the hands you just want to forget, actually.

Irene Van Loon cashed in during the Irish Winter Festival in Dublin, last month. She finished in 14th place and took home €7,200 , and she showed that she had deservedly earned her place in the semi-final… But not this time, unfortunately.

The pot was 600, and Irene had pocket Kings on a Q-7-5 flop. Her opponent, who had already raised numerous times before, decided to make a massive overbet of 2,200 chips.

Irene knew that calling is not an option. She also knew that there wass certainly only one hand to beat her - pocket Aces.

She decided to go all-in, and the answer came quickly: insta-call from her opponent who returned…. pocket Aces.

No King on the turn, no King on the river, and no luck for Irene who busted out after one hour of play.
