In response to being selected as Poker Player of the Year at the 11th annual European Poker Awards ceremony in Paris last week, Team Titan’s Sam Trickett commented, “Extremely proud to be European Player of the Year. Thanks everyone for voting for me!

Sam had been nominated in two European Poker Award categories – Player of the Year and Best Tournament Performance. The European Poker Awards were established to recognize the best Europeans poker pros and newcomers. After having started the final table as the chipleader, Sam Trickett finished in 4th place in the World Series of Poker Europe €5,300 Pot-Limit Omaha event, which attracted 180 players.
For his performance, the English member of Team Titan will bring home a prize of €77,642.

The World Series Of Poker Europe 2011 started on October 7th in the Cannes Croisette Casino. The first event of the series, the €2,680 Six-Handed No-Limit Hold’em attracted 360 starters and Marvin Rettenmaier finished in 17th place for a prize of €9,936. Sam Trickett was eliminated by his Team Titan teammate Marvin Rettenmaier at the beginning of Day 1.

Team Titan’s Sam Trickett won the prestigious Best Cash Player Award at last night’s second annual British Poker Award ceremony, staged at Poker in the Park at Hanover Square in London.
Trickett, who won the Best New Player Award at last year’s inaugural British Poker Award ceremony, was also nominated in the categories of Best Tournament Player and Best Social Media User.
The award winners were selected by online voters. British stand-up comedian Lucy Porter announced the award ceremony, which included a charity auction to raise money for the Peace and Sport organization.

Team Titan’s Sam Trickett is leading the remaining 18 players in the inaugural $20,000 Epic Poker League 6-Max Main Event in Las Vegas. At the end of Day 2, Sam has 1,032,000 chips, which puts him well ahead of the field. In second is Hasan Habib with 646,000.
Play will resume tomorrow with all 18 players in the money. The next player to be eliminated will receive $43,190. First place will receive $1,000,000.

2,490 players returned to the action at the Rio in Las Vegas for the World Series of Poker Main Event’s Day 2B. They were competing for a chance to join the 805 players who qualified yesterday for Day 3 of the tournament. Among the starters, we followed six Titan Poker players.
The three pro players from Team Titan, Christophe Benzimra, Marvin Rettenmaier and Sam Trickett started Day 2B respectively with 36,375; 47,700; and 36,000 chips alongside three online qualifiers, German player Alexander Debus (57.7K), Andras Balogh (65K) and Miklos Szuffa (13,950).

The 2011 World Series of Poker Main Event attracted 897 players for Day 1a and a total of 985 players took their seats on Day 1b. These numbers are less than last year’s but no doubt there will be larger participation in the remaining two starting days.
Among the players who sat down at the tables on Day 1b were Team Titan’s Sam Trickett and Marvin Rettenmaier.
