Sam Trickett
88 players qualified for Day 2 action at the World Poker Tour (WPT) National Series Paris by ACFPoker.fr in the Aviation Club de France. We saw ahead of us a long day until we ended up with 27 players for Day 3.
The pace of eliminations was really fast. Unfortunately one of the first victims of the day was our German member of Team Titan, Marvin Rettenmaier.
Level 9 – Blinds 500/1000 Ante 100:
Marvin Rettenmaier arrived at the table with his short stack and joined his mate Sam Trickett. Marvin received A♠ Q♦ for his first hand and a short stack
moved all-in. Marvin called. His opponent showed 7♠7♣ and it is a flip.
The board didn’t bring any A or Q and Marvin Rettenmaier is down to 2.7K.
A few hands later, Sam Trickett raised to 3K in early position and Marvin Rettenmaier decided to pay. The two players of Team Titan Pro showed QhJs for Marvin and Ac9c for Sam who said a friendly: “Good Luck mate”.
No chance for Marvin when the flop came 8 ♣A♣ 3♥ 7♣ 9♥
Sam Trickett eliminated Marvin Rettenmaier at the very beginning of the day. “I didn’t lose everything today. I can still go to play another tournament now that I am free so early” said Marvin laughing.
At the end of the level, Sam Trickett reached 179K with the average being 63.5K.
The tournament director broke Sam’s table and the Englishman joined his new table with Kyllonen and a few regular French players, Bot and Kalfon. At this new table, Sam Trickett stayed quiet during Level 10 and after two hours of playing, Sam Trickett was sitting behind a confortable stack of 187K. At the first break of Day 2, 64 players are left with a 73.4K average.
Then Sam Trickett had to change tables a second time and joined Michel Abecassis and Isabelle Mercier. Not a lot of action for Sam Trickett at this table. Sam Trickett maintained his stack at the same level being aggressive at the right times.
Level 12 – Blinds 1 000/2 000 Ante 300:
Sam Trickett in small blind called the initial raise of Isabelle Mercier.
The flop came 8♣ J♦ 9♦ and both players checked.

This time, Sam joined famous French players at table 6 with Stephan Gerin, Manu Bevand, Bruno Benveniste and Jérôme Zerbib.
