Level 16 – Blinds 2 000/4 000 Ante 500:
Sam Trickett called from the big blind the raise to 10.5 K of Russian player Natalia Nikitina.
Flop: A♦ 2♦ 5♣
Sam Trickett checked and Nikitina bet 11K. Sam decided to raise to 24K but the Russian woman pushed 26K more for a 50K bet. Sam hesitated and called.
Turn: 10♣
Sam Trickette and Natalia Nikitina checked.
River: 5s
Both players checked again.
Nikitina showed her hand, quite sure to be beaten with K♠6♠ but Sam Trickett mucked his cards.
27 players left – average 174K.
Sam Trickett raised to 10K and his neighboor moved all-in. Sam quickly called with AK. His opponent held AQ.
Trickett logically won the hand and eliminated Fabien Barrau. He is up to 345K.
Then Sam Trickett busted out Stephan Gerin in 25th position. Sam bet 10K, Matsson called and Stephan Gerin called as well in big blind position.
Flop: K♥5♦4♥
Stephan Gerin open shoved for 60K. Sam Trickett snap-called with 5♠5♥. Stephan Gerin showed 3♦6♦
No 7 or 2 at the turn and river and Sam won the pot.
Sam also won a smalll pot the in next hand against Bruno Benveniste and is up to 420K when the average is 204K. 23 players are remaining.
Then he won another battle but this time against the chipleader of the moment, Matsson. 30K more to reach 450K.
Level 17 – Blinds 2 500/5 000 Ante 500:
Sam Trickett was really active at the table and raised regularly to steal (or not) the blinds.
Natalia Nikitina raised to 14K and Sam called in small blind position.
Flop: Q♣8♠J♥
Sam Trickett checked and Nikitina imitated him.
Sam sent in 19K on the turn 2♦ and got called.
River: 3♥
Sam Trickett pushed all-in to put pressure on his opponent. She finally folded her pocket 10s. Sam showed her the bluff A♣5♦
“I knew it !” said the young woman.
Then came the bubble time! 19 players left… But in 2 hands the suspense was gone. Danish player Carlsson finished in the worst place. He is the bubble boy of the tournament.
Sam Trickett enjoyed this short bubble to bluff Bruno Benveniste and climbed to 500K, double the average stack.

During Level 18 at Blinds 3,000/6,000, Ante 500, Sam Trickett kept his stack at the same level expecting errors from opponents. He made a small profit of 50K to reach 660K at the beginning of Level 19.
Level 19: Blinds 4 000/8 000 Ante 1 000:
On a flop J♦2♦8♠ Sam Trickett check-called the 18K bet from Calia who had just arrived at the table.
Turn: K♠
Check-check.
River: 3♦
Sam Trickett bet 52K and Calia folded. Sam showed K♦J♦ to his Italian adversary.
Jean-Lou Tepper doubled-up on Sam Trickett on a coin flip confrontation. Sam lost 89K on this hand.
But a few hands later in the same Level 19, Sam Trickett mini-raised (16K) UTG and the French player Jérôme Zerbib called from the big blind position.
Flop: 10♦7♠3♦
Sam Trickett called the 8K bet of Zerbib.
Turn: 10♠
Zerbib check-called 35K.
River: 6♥
Zerbib check-called 100K.
Sam Trickett immediately showed 10♣6♣ for a full house. Zerbib, disgusted mucked his cards while Sam Trickett reached 750K and took the chiplead at the end of the level.

Level 20 – Blinds 5K/10K Ante 1K:
Sam Trickett raised to 20K and the Frenchman Jean-Louis Tepper moved all-in for 206K. Sam called and it is the showdown:

Jean-Louis Tepper: A♠J♣
After this hand Sam is down to 600K.
But in 20 minutes and with his aggressive game, Sam Trickett succeed to come back to 760K three-betting and four-betting.
Then in the last 30 minutes of the day, Sam Tickett accelerated, moving all-in a few times to put pressure on his opponents and finished the day with 849K.
