Damien Luis, the young player from Feyzin, France qualified for the WSOP Main Event just one month ago, playing at the Titan Poker tables.

He came to Las Vegas without any particular expectations.  In the end he is going home with $206,395. Certainly not bad for a man  playing in his second live tournament.

After 7 days of high level competition, Damien Luis was finally eliminated by the famous Swedish player William Thorson.

The hand:

Hasan Habib pushed all his chips in the middle for 460,000 chips in early position. Thorson called and Damien Luis moved all-in as well, for a total of more than 1 million chips. The Swede called again.

The three players then revealed their hands:

Habib:  A♣K♥
Luis:  4♠4♥
Thorson: A♥Q♣

The flop came : A♦9♦3♥

Turn: 6♥

River: 5♦

Hasan Habib tripled up, while Thorson eliminated Damien Luis and won the side-pot.

Congratulations to Damien Luis for an excellent run!
